Audi Q8 e-tron 2.jpegThe Audi Q8 e-tron is the German automaker's new electric luxury SUV, and it builds on the success of its predecessor, the Audi e-tron quattro. The Q8 e-tron features a new design, improved efficiency and range, and higher charging performance. It is also the first model to feature the new model badge with Audi lettering on the B-pillar. Here's a closer look at what the Q8 e-tron has to offer.

Design

The Q8 e-tron and Q8 Sportback e-tron are immediately identifiable as fully electric models at first glance, thanks to their new front and rear designs. As a prestigious electric SUV model from Audi, the Q8 e-tron ushers in the new corporate identity with a two-dimensional design of the four rings on the exterior.

Power and Range

Audi's all-new fully electric SUV is available in two drivetrain variants: the Q8 50 e-tron and the Q8 55 e-tron, with a battery size of 95 kWh or 114 kWh, respectively. Both come with electric all-wheel drive. The 50 e-tron has a maximum power output of 250 kW and a range of up to 491 km (WLTP), whereas the 55 e-tron's output is 300kW with a range of 582 km (WLTP). With the standard AC charger, the Q8 can charge at up to 11 kW. An optional AC charger increases this performance to 22 kW.

Comfortably Sporty

The most notable change is the addition of an air-spring suspension with controlled shock absorption. This will allow the vehicle to better cope with rough terrain and provide a smoother ride overall. In addition, the height of the car body can be varied by up to 76 millimetres, depending on the driving situation. Other changes include a revised progressive steering system and updated electronic stability control (ESC) software. These updates should make the Q8 e-tron even more agile and maneuverable than before – especially in tight corners.

Luxurious Cabin

Audi's all-new Q8 e-tron SUV is packed with high-tech features that aim to provide a comfortable and convenient driving experience. Perhaps the most notable of these is the glass panorama roof, which not only lets in natural light but also gives the interior a spacious feel. The glass elements can be opened and closed electronically, and the blackout sunshades are controlled just as conveniently.

When it comes to climate control, Audi is offering a four-zone automatic system as an upgrade from the standard two-zone system. And for even more comfort, there's an air quality package that includes three-stage ventilation. As for the seats, they're available in both standard and contoured individual styles and can be ordered with a massage function. With so many innovative features, it's no wonder the Audi Q8 e-tron is one of the most highly anticipated SUVs of the year.

The all-new Audi Q8 e-tron is an impressive electric luxury SUV that has a lot to offer EV shoppers. With new design cues, improved efficiency and range, and higher charging performance, the Q8 e-tron is sure to turn heads and impress drivers when it hits dealerships later next year.
