The 2022 Audi A3 has been entirely renewed in order to remain one of the best options in the subcompact premium sedan segment.

Many premium features

The 2022 Audi A3 comes equipped with many new features that make it stand out, such as the standard LED headlamps or the available Matrix-design headlamps that benefit from distinctive daytime-running light signatures. In the rear, the standard LED taillamps can be upgraded to feature an animation that plays when locking or unlocking the car. Leather upholstery is standard and so are the panoramic sunroof and the three-zone automatic climate control, characteristics that require a supplement in competing vehicles, if they are even offered. The infotainment system is the latest version of Audi’s MIB 3 system which now includes handwriting recognition and is controlled via a 10.1-inch touchscreen. The standard instrument cluster is a 10.25-inch digital display and the 12.3-inch Digital Cockpit is available.

A Standard mild-hybrid system

The 2022 Audi A3 is now equipped as standard with a new mild-hybrid powertrain, a first for this model. This system adds a 48-volt battery to the 2.0 L turbocharged four-cylinder engine in order to provide a boost when pulling away and to provide more torque during normal driving. This powertrain is also capable of coasting with the gasoline engine stopped in many situations, which reduces unnecessary fuel usage. Due to this advanced engine and hybrid system, the new A3 only burns 8.5L / 100 km in the city and 6.6L / 100 km on the highway, on average, while delivering 201 horsepower. This output is enough to make the A3 fun to drive around town and on wide open roads. The Quattro all-wheel drive system from Audi is standard, which greatly improves the A3’s driving dynamics and its safety on slippery roads by allowing the wheels with the most traction to receive the engine’s power.
